NOTICE is hereby given that the Trustees of Edmund Rice Education Australia of 9 The Vaucluse (PO Box 91) Richmond Vic 3121 have lodged an application with the Non-State Schools Accreditation Board for government funding of Years 7 to 12 of secondary education at the Southport Flexible Learning Centre, 2 Nakina Street, Southport Qld 4215 and founded on the philosophy and traditions of Edmund Rice Education.
The Southport Flexible Learning Centre aims to provide educational opportunities to disadvantaged young people who are either excluded from, or choose to remain outside, mainstream schooling in the Southport and surrounding areas. The enrolment catchment area relevant to the application is a geographical area generally including the centres and suburbs of Southport, Labrador, Biggera Waters, Coombabah, Helensvale, Parkwood, Arundel, Gaven, Pacific Pines, Oxenford, Upper Coomera, Kingsholme, Nerang, Molendinar, Ashmore, Benowa, Bundall, Carrara, Merrimac, Robina, Tallai, Worongary and Robina.
Anyone may inspect the application and accompanying documents at the registered office of Edmund Rice Education Australia - Flexible Learning Centres Network at 70 Kate Street, Indooroopilly Qld 4068 or the office of the Non-State Schools Accreditation Board, Floor 8, Education House, 30 Mary Street, Brisbane. Copies of the application may be obtained from the applicant at the above location. Copies of any accompanying documents will not be provided.
Anyone may make a submission about the application to the Non-State Schools Accreditation Board, PO Box 15347, City East QLD 4002. A properly made submission is one that is written, is signed by or for each person making the submission, states the name and address of each signatory, and is lodged within 35 days from the date of this notice. Submissions may address only the criteria for eligibility for government funding stated in sections 85 and 86 of the Education (Accreditation of Non-State Schools) Act 2001.
