The Non-State Schools Accreditation Board (NSSAB) is responsible for approving applications to establish non-state, also referred to as non-government, schools in Queensland. This is known as accreditation.
Accreditation confirms that an entity is suitable to be the governing body of a school under the
Education (Accreditation of Non-State Schools) Act 2017. Read more about accreditation requirements.
Once a school is operational, governing bodies will need to submit other types of applications or notifications when changes occur or are proposed to the operation of their school so we can monitor governance arrangements and ongoing compliance with the legislation.
Read more about types of applications below or notification requirements.
NSSAB can assess applications for eligibility for Australian or Queensland government funding at the same time as school accreditation applications or at any time afterwards.
