Governing bodies of existing non-state schools need to apply to the Non-State Schools Accreditation Board (NSSAB) for approval if they plan to change or add the following:
- student intake day
- new type of education (primary or secondary)
- school's attributes of accreditation including
- governing body
- school site, including for temporary special assistance sites to become permanent sites of the school
- year level
- mode of education delivery (classroom or distance education)
- type of student (male only, female only or co-educational)
- boarding
- special assistance.
Other changes may require notification rather than an application. Read more about

Submit your completed application through
NSSAB online services or email to
nssab.admin@qed.qld.gov.au. If you cannot lodge it electronically, mail a printout of the completed document to us.
